Hello! I have lots of Linux experience and, as part of a new server build, have taken the plunge to experience the advantages of a turn-key OS and containerized apps. My old server was an Opteron 1218 HE platform with 6 GB of ECC RAM, so while I could use ZFS I was hitting a lot of memory limits with other services. I'm impressed by how quick the migration was overall to get everything I wanted into Docker containers and SCALE apps. TrueCharts support has been helpful as well.

I posted details of my hardware build on PC Part Picker: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/WQCLrH It's a build of mostly used parts: Opteron 4332 HE, Supermicro H8SCM-F board, 16GB registered DDR3 ECC RAM, Intel quad gigabit NIC, low profile micro ATX case, and 2.5" mobile rack with SAS controller. Total cost under $500; more than 40% of that was the new case and mobile rack.
