SOLVED New Router: Reconfigured IPv4. Web GUI only available for short time after startup. Jails start and work regardless. No SMB.

Hi all,

I'm going through a move and this involved getting a new router at the new location. Before the move, the web gui, jails, and services were all working as expected. The old ipv4 config was 192.168.1.108/24. Upon setting up my router and connecting my TrueNAS machine to it, no access to anything via the old ipv4 config (expected). I pop into the router to see what IP the router assigned and used that when doing ipv4 config via the cli: 192.168.50.54/24. Now I can access the web GUI using that new IP for only a brief period of time before it can no longer be reached. However my jails continue to work. SMB is not available either.

I'm not really sure what to do at this point. I hope I've posted this thread in the correct place. I wont be able to respond until the following afternoon.

Many thanks to any who respond!

Is there anything I can do to give more information? I'm seriously drawing a blank...

OK, let's try this for starters:

Please post a screenshot of Network>Global Configuration

Okay, new development. I can access the webgui via my phone, but not via my desktop. The only oddity in my network setup is a pair of Moca2.5 adapters between my router and desktop.

Hmmm.
I guess you are running Scale (based on the fact that I've never seen that layout before...), but it looks good anyway.

Moca adaptors I know nothing about, but I'll bet you've identified your culprit. Can you find a way to use Ethernet cable directly to check it out?

Good luck!

It's running truenas core, maybe the mobile layout is unfamiliar. I'll try connecting a laptop via ethernet and seeing if that works.

Must be - live and learn... Thx for the education.

EDIT. That was it - I just tried it on my phone.

I'm going nuts: web gui via ethernet doesnt work & via wifi only works on my phone, not on any other wifi device. (Plex jail is still accessible using my public IP & port via a port forward)

Is there some conflict with IP addresses maybe?

OK. Solved it. I have no idea how or why but setting the ipv4 config to what the router assigned was the mistake. I went and reconfigured the ipv4 with a new address (192.168.50.50/24) and it worked. I'm convinced routing is just black magic...
