How do I manually install in in FreeNAS....? Or how long before the plugin can be updated OTA? Hoping this release fixes my Chromecast issues.

There is a way of manually updating the plugin. Search the forums and you'll find it. As for the plugin it will get updated when @Joshua Parker Ruehlig gets around to it. He does this in his spare time so be patient.

Thanks for the reply. I've searched...
Unfortunately, manually updating involves scripts cronjobs and witchcraft...
I'm not familiar with any of that ...except the witchcraft ;)
Peace!

You need to run this inside the plex jail. not on freenas.

If you can't reach a web address from inside the jail, then you need to resolve your jail networking.

Yes, and inside the jail, you couldn't reach the website, probably because the jail networking wasn't set up correctly. Inside the jail, try to ping raw.githubusercontent.com or www.google.com.

You still need a NAMESERVER even with a gateway out...inside the jail you can edit /etc/resolv.conf and add a nameserver...

Wouldn't it be easier to just resolve the IP of the script? I don't know much about FreeBSD
