New Intel XEON CPU

just building a new server and looking at using Xeon Gold 6128 cpu. just looking for some feedback before I go ahead and order. is there a better cpu to use?

I use the server for a NFS store for hosting terminal servers.

it will have 256gb of ram, 1.2tb for l2 arc and 400gb for Arc.

12gb hba and 24 4tb hitachi 12gb sas drives.,

Just keep in mind that you'd be on the bleeding edge. Probably one of the first to go to a chip that new. It might work, it might not. There might be some teething issues. Make sure you're prepared for that, or buy something that's one generation behind and well-supported.

I mean Supermicro has boards announced that even include 10gbit Ethernet in both SFP or 10GBase. There is even a board with a Broadcom 3008 SAS controller that can be flashed to IT mode if you needed thats as well. I have a Skylake E3 system and it is still more than enough power for our household.
