New freenas build need suggestions

Hey guys,
Ive just decided to do a low end freenas build to see how it all works out and if i will go bigger and better. Im using a LGA 775 platform with 8gb 1066 ram. I was thinking of running a dual port gigabit lan card, will i need special drivers for this???

Have you read the Hardware Recommendations? I think that will answer all, or at leat most, of your questions.

just read it, thanks for that. It has answered alot of questions, i think im gonna throw together the system i have and do trouble shooting once it's all together. I know it's been said over and over in that article but will 4gb of ddr2 get the job done instead of 8gb? or should i concentrate on 8gb?

FreeNAS 9.3 will not be safe with less than 8 GB of RAM.
