New build...bad drive already?

Ok, here is the build I just put together.
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H
CPU: AMD 7400k
8gb ram
WD Red 4tb x 1 (for now)

So I got the web GUI booted up and the OS running from my usb drive. But when I go to add a volume or create one there are no available disk. Under show disk nothing. In BIOS boot menu the only thing showing up
is my usb. Plugged it into my main rig and it couldn't recognize it either. Tried 3 sata cables....I guess my question is am I missing something really simple to be able to see the drive or is it just bad? Thoughts?

Sounds to me like a DOA drive. Especially if you tried it in other systems.

I will spare you and not tell you how horrifically awful that non-server, AMD-based hardware will be for a FreeNAS box.
