I got me a "Offline uncorrectable sectors (changed -16)" and felt like "I need advice".
Been around PC's since the 286 and into the PC world since 486's ( all in a MS world, until now ).
Got me WD4100's but wanted something better, but none existed ( in my mind ), until a youtube-er that really likes the TrueNAS and it's bit-rot proof abilities, shared videos.
I've got stuff since ..., floppies. And I hate data corruption.
So this y'all put together is a god sent. Really good to have found your software.

Thanks

Welcome!

Simply setting up your system to use an OS that features ZFS, FreeBSD in particular, will improve disk performance and increase safety. For a backup FreeNAS ought to be a good solution but [STRONG] recommendations will be for ECC ram and a server-oriented (non-consumer, NOT gaming) machine. Regardless of how you use ZFS, give it as much physical RAM as you can for greatest performance.
