Hi,

need help wit my server log, because i dont know what does it mean...

i have instaled Freenas v9.2.1.7 x64 on Supermicro server SSG-6037R-E1R16L 3U DP.

When i restart or start server i got email with this:

"Fixed Direct Access SCSI-6 device"

This means that i have any problems with the controller? Need flash firmware to LSI card?

email server log:

I didn't respond because you listed a server model but included nothing else. And clearly your sig isn't your hardware so I had nothing to go on. I've taken the rather harsh (but time saving solution for me) of just ignoring posts that can't provide the basic stuff the forum rules ask for. Asking 10 people a day to follow the forum rules gets to be a little monotonous and wastes time.

Im so stupid, sorry for that... I hope that it will be correct now:

I need help with my server log (uploaded as "email_output.txt"), because i dont know what does it mean. When i restart or start server i got email with this: "Fixed Direct Access SCSI-6 device"

About server
SW info:
Freenas version: FreeNAS-9.2.1.7-RELEASE-x64 (fdbe9a0)

HW info:
Server: SUPERMICRO SSG-6037R-E1R16L 3U DP
Board: Super X9DRD-7LN4F-JBOD
CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2609 v2 @ 2.50GHz
RAM: 24521MB DDR3 ECC REG
chipset: Intel® C602J Chipset
sas controler: SAS2 via LSI 2308; IT Mode/Pass-through
backplate: SAS2 / SATA3 single expander per backplane, backplane with single LSI SAS2X28 expander chip

Disks info from Freenas UI, dmesg output, pciconf output, smart output is in uploaded file, because are too long.

And again sorry....

EDIT: i have second similar server (same Freenas settings). This second server send only short email report like this:
Code:
fileserver1.workgroup kernel log messages:
> SMP: AP CPU #2 Launched!
> Timecounter "TSC-low" frequency 1250024090 Hz quality 1000
> vboxdrv: fAsync=0 offMin=0x36a offMax=0xeef

-- End of security output --

That particular log looks an awful lot like boot messages... Are you sure the system didn't reboot in the 24 hours before you received that email?

Hm, on server is not set periodic reboot, but i cant sit in front of server for 24/7 hours/days. How can i 100% check if it reboot? Some startup script in cron (like echo "reboot" >> /mnt/volume0/test/reboot_check.txt) ?

The command "uptime" will tell you how long since the last bootup occurred.
