Howdy y'all!

I am debating between these three types of drives:

1. HGST HE8 HUH728080AL4200 8TB 7.2k SAS 12GB/s 3.5"

2. Seagate ST8000NM0065 8TB 7200RPM 3.5IN 4KN SAS-12GBPS

3. HGST He10 HUH721008AL4200 8TB 7.2K SAS 4KN 12Gb/s

I have no knowledge which brand and model would be more reliable. I am looking forward to get 4 of these for a RAID-Z2 group.

FYI, my current controller is a "LSI SAS9302-8i ServeRAID N2215 12Gbps SAS HBA", so I know for a fact is supports 4Kn drives.

Any suggestion is welcome. Thank you in advance.

any of those drives wil work. I would get a bit from each manufacturer from different vendors..that's the best way to protect against a string of failures...:)

Thank you for the follow up.
Care to comment on the fact that those drives are refurbished?

well with refurbs age can be a consideration. All of the disks in my servers below are refurbs. In 10 years I have not had a rash of failures. I have two that are "iffy"..they are passing diags..but both of them have had one smart failure in the past couple of months..but there's no write errors and no read errors. I am replacing those drives out of caution..with two more refurbs. One is a Seagate and one is a Hitachi..both of them are in my R520..:)
