I recently set up my freenas, but it will only show up on one computer. I dont think I did anything different to my main computer for it not to show up on my laptop or other media pcs.

I'm new to this so if you need more information let me know and ill do my best to provide as much as I can.

I had that problem on one of my computers and spent a month or two trying to get it straightened out. I reloaded Windows 10 and now it works like a champ. Something was borked in Win 10 and it refused to see anything on the network that wasn't another Windows computer.

would that be the case for multiple pcs though? I have a media pc in my living room and it wont find the nas either. I could try fresh installing though but seems weird 2/3 wont locate the nas but find everything else alright

It is a strange thing with Windows 10. My laptop worked perfectly for over a year and then there was some kind of glitch with the OS and it wouldn't see the NAS any more. That was just back in November. I reloaded the OS and now it is working fine again. Something in Windows gets crazy and if you can figure out what, please tell me. I get tired of needing to reload Windows. I had to reload my wife's computer early part of last year for the same thing.

Do you mean your FreeNAS shares do not appear when browsing the network in windows explorer or when typing \\<freenas ip>> in the win explorer address bar? ( Have you tried mapping a network drive?)

Assuming you're using FN11.2, this might be relevant: https://redmine.ixsystems.com/issues/74190
Looks like this fix could be applied to FN11.2-U3, due in 31 days.

There have been quite a few forum post re: accessing FreeNAS shares from win10

Originally i had the SMB/1.0 disabled on my desktop and after some research saw that it was an option to turn enable it and that seemed to work for my desktop that is. I went to the other pcs to see and they were all disabled as well so i thought i had my solution. Turns out my laptop had it enabled and still couldnt locate the NAS. but that post seems to be what the issues I am having.

Not using windows much myself, but the edition ( home, pro etc) and version (1709,1803 etc.) probably plays a part.
