Moving iSCSI drive to another server

Hello Everyone!
I have a server with windows 2008 connected to freenas box and set to use iSCSI as drive "I".
I need to re-install the OS on this server, and my question is:
What will happen to the data from drive iSCSI "I" ?, Can I re-config iSCSI after re-installing windows and be able to access to all the data I have on "I"?

Any suggestions?

If the iSCSI device isn't connected to the 2008 server, I don't see why anything would happen to the data.
