Thank you.
Now I have control of the wiring.

Try to figure out how many amps the motherboard can’t handle.

The 3 fans I got is 0,6 amps each, is this to much for the morherboard?

The original that are standing there at 3 amps but the are not on the motherboard.

Because this is the only way to get speed control with truenas based on my google search’s.

Can't help with the available motherboard power limit.

Have you thought about using a third party controller? There are posts on the forum about these, both hardware and scripts - search will find you lots of hits on the topic.

I have seached for it for this emc isilon x410 server that I have. But the only thing I found was that people had connected fans to the motherboard instead of the internal board. If ther are easier ways to get the fans to go slower under low load and ramp up when temperatures raise it had been great, but I haven’t found any easy way for this.

In the manual at point 15.5 page 173 that Redcoat added there is a schematics and in lower right it says fan 12V 4A.

This meen that the total fan load can be 4A on the mother board I ok.

So 3 fans at 0,6A =1,8A is no problem to use?

Well done on finding that! I would make the same conclusion that you have as that page is for your specific mainboard.
Great job!!!
