Missing files in dataset

As the title states, I am missing files from a dataset. I have a server box that I use for file back up and to run plexmedia server. My buddy upgraded me to truenas from freenas and after doing so files went missing out of a dataset. He fixed it the first time, however he is completely out of pocket at the moment and I need to try and get this fixed asap.

The only affected folder is the media folder. all other files are intact.
the dataset still shows there are 1.46tb of data there. but the drive is empty.
I will also provide a zfs list below.

any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

OK, so if you cd into /mnt/storage/media and ls -l can you see some files or none at all?

Did you ever setup snapshots on the system? If so, try this:

# cd /mnt/storage/media/.zfs/snapshot
# ls -al

Anything in there?

Looks like it's not mounted.

Try this:
cd / zfs mount -a ls -lha /mnt/storage/media/

EDIT: You don't need to paste the results as long as it works. This way it's not out in public, an entire listing of your personal contents.

Glad to hear, and welcome! I'm not sure how it was unmounted, honestly. If you only ever used the GUI, it's not likely that a dataset would unmount on its own (unless you "lock" an encrypted one). Perhaps a script or things you tried in the Shell inadvertently unmounted it?
