mirror detach

I have a server with a mirror pool (just 2 drives) and used detach instead of replace
zpool detach zfsdata4 xxxxx
in this case how do I add a drive to it so the mirror is complete ?
I am using currently
zpool attach zfsdata4 currentdrive newdrive

but it looks like is missing the raid type some how
will it default to mirror?
will it default to previous raid type ?
how to specify the raid type ?

You seem to be working from the Command Line???
Which version of FreeNAS are you running please, and while you're
at it, knowing a little more detail (perhaps a screen shot or two) would help us help you.
