Hello,

Actually, I've a Freenas on a kvm vm. I use RAW disks (no qcow). All is ok but I want migrate this Freenas to a physical hardware.

When I installed a new Freenas on usb drive, on boot I search volume (present on raw disk) but no volume is present. Disks are visible but if I want import volume no are present.

It's possible to migrate ? If yes, what is the upgrade path ?

Regards,

Damien

Importing should not be needed. I have migrated FreeNAS from ESXi without a problem. On the still running VM I saved the config file (.db) on a safe place (on the same workstation I use for running the webgui). I stopped the VM and its host and disconnected and removed the drives with the storage pool. I then mounted and connected the storage drives in the other machine and installed FreeNAS. When FreeNAS was running again I just downloaded the saved config file (using the webgui again) and boom there was my pool and all the settings again. I have no experience with KVM VM (is it the Linux Kernel VM?) but I suspect that you can do the same thing. After all FreeNAS is not aware that it is running from a VM.
