Migrating from x86 to 64-bit on 8.2p1 Question

I am running x86 8.2.0 p1 on an Intel i3 CPU with no problems. But I hear it would be better with ZFS to use the 64-bit version to support more RAM (box had 8GB but x86 appears to recognize only 3GB).

Looking for opinions on the idea of migrating and whether I can migrate the existing ZFS pool without having to recopy the ~4TB of data on it.
