FreeNAS-9.2.1.8-RELEASE-x64 (e625626)

I am a new user to FreeNAS. I am getting an email every hour with the following subject:

Cron <root@hostname> newsyslog
and the following content:

usage: pstat [-Tfghkmnst] [-M core [-N system]]

Where is this cron job defined? What is the meaning of this email's content?

Thanks for any help, Larry

This is nuts! This message comes every hour on the hour. What can I do to stop it?

I don't know but I'd guess one of two things:

1. Your install of FreeNAS is corrupt
2. You've edited files and they don't work properly anymore.

That error definitely isn't normal for FreeNAS and I can't even tell you what is generating the error because of the vagueness of the message.

I haven't edited any files. Suggestions on how I might recover?

Backup config, re-install FreeNAS and load config?

Actually, I'd try installing FreeNAS to different media and then upload your config and see what happens.

cyberjock, should I save the current configuration and load it on the new media? Is it possible the configuration itself might be corrupt?

It's quite possible, but might as well give it a try before declaring it corrupt.

I am sorry to ask the following newbie questions.

I do have another FreeNAS thumb drive which I created before this error
message via dd on a linux box. So the single ZFS volume defined in this
earlier drive may not have all of the datasets and shares of the current
configuration.

Can I import the volume to force it to the current volume configuration?
How do I get the shares back, redefine them manually?

Thanks
