Memory error?

Hi,

I have a FreeNAS-9.2.1.9-RELEASE-x64 built on this hardware:

X8DTL-i SuperMicro baseboard (dual cpu triple channel ram baseboard)
1x Intel E5520 CPU
3 x 2GB DDR3 @ 1333MHz SuperTalent ECC Registered
2 x WD Red (one of 4TB and one of 3TB assembled in a non-raid setup using all the space into one volume)
The case is a normal full height tower with a few fans added to it.

The platform is a 5+ years old server re-purposed as a FreeNas machine. I am in the process of backing up the NAS as a first step before updating to FreeNas 9.3 which is probably stressing the hardware quite a lot.

I have just seen in the prompt an alarming error. I have attached a print screen.

Does this mean that the RAM is starting to through errors? Should I be worried?

I had this very issue, it was RAM related, and after 5 or 6 passes of memtest it finally showed up, i just removed the problematic DIMM and never looked back, nor saw the same error. Youll want to SSH into FreeNAS though and type/paste "dmidecode --type 17" then scroll to see what DIMM is in BANK8 as bank 8 doenst always correspond to DIMM slot 8....

Thank you for your feedback. I only have 3 dimms installed (the baseboard only has 3 dimm slots per cpu and I have only one cpu installed). I ran the command you gave me but I am unable to spot which dimm is related to bank #8:

Well the thing is that I have not encountered that error since then. Maybe it overheated (due to me leaving the case open which may have adversely affected the air currents). I'll keep it under attention.
