Just downloaded the latest firmware release from LSI for my 9211-8i cards (I do not install a BIOS as I do not boot from them). The latest release is 20.00.07.00. I am just preparing for a system swap and I am wondering if I should prep with .07 or .04 IT firmware. I currently run .04 firmware and it is stable.

Cheers,

Well, .07 fixes a few more edge cases and it seems to be just as stable. I see little point in using .04.

Sounds reasonable! I will configure my second system with .07.

Not to self: Make sure that if you receive a Dell card that you know how to re-flash it properly. New (used) system showed up and it was advertised to have a 9211-8i. I updated the IT firmware from 20.00.02.00 to 20.00.07.00 without a hitch but then I thought that I would remove the boot rom as I do not use it and it slows re-boot times. That is when I realized that the card was actually a Dell PERC H200 (the way the card mounts in the SuperMicro case I could not see the label). Lesson learned...
