I've got a server that will eat around 90w of power. It's stored in a closet, without a lot of airflow, and, I don't run my A/C during the day while I'm at work...
So...other than turning on powerd, and setting the disks to spindown after a specified amount of time (if they will...just installed FreeNAS last night)...are there any other tricks to knocking down the power draw as much as possible?
When I had Windows Home Server 2011 on it, I set up a script to shut it off after so 90 minutes of idle...is that possible with FreeNAS 8.0.4-Release? I used WOL to fire it up when needed...
