I am using an old Dell R410 with 4 8 TB disks, The R410 only has room for 4 of the 3.5 in Disks, So my TrueNas is installed on USB, I started with 2 USB disks (identical) in the rear 2 USB ports. then a few months back I notice a boot pool error mesg. I bought off amazon 6 of these scandisk 32 GB usb disks, so I put another one in the front port, I was able to get it to reboot back up and in disks it showed up, I went into my boot pool and started to the replacement of the mirror to my new disk, I left the bad one in the back while it was doing its work, well.... that was 4 months ago and I totally forgot to remove the bad one in the back. and this morning my server froze with a BTX error i believe it was, I would have to go back to var log messages to see, but when i rebooted it, it hung. (me thinking that its trying to boot off the bad one in the back) so i rebooted again and went into the boot selection and told it to boot to the front USB, ( in the BIOS boot selection it actually says Front USB), and it booted up fine, and now is resilvering. My boot volume is da5 and da6, da4 the other usb disk which says N/A/. Can i grep through a log that will tell me which of the USB ports da4 is in. Now i did this already in var log messages and got da4 at umass-sim0 bus 0 scbus9 target 0 lun 0. and i have been googling around trying to find somewhere that will tell me which of the physical usb ports that is, like rear bottom, or rear top.
any help is appreciated.
