Jail with different gateway

How do i setup a jail to use a different Gw then what the host box is using.
And i've already tried setting up the GW in the preferences of the jail, didn't work, also how can i check what the gateway is when i ssh in, netstat doesn't seem to work.

What type of jail? Is vimage enabled for the jail? That is needed for the gateway setting in the jail's gui to work. Also, netstat -rn should work.

It was setup for the transmission plugin

If you use plugins, you can't do fancy networking stuff. You would need to create a Plugins jail with the vimage box checked, install the application, and change the networking from there. Assuming that the application supports vimage.
