Hello

My issue is when I make any changes to the Network Interface all of my JAILS have to be restarted in order to make connection to them.

Any help

Thank you

When you change the network configuration of the host, it's best to reboot.

Not the host. If I change the configuration of any interface of the Truenas I have to reboot all JAILS. Otherwise I cannot access them.

Yes, interface in TrueNAS - TrueNAS host. In contrast to the jails. These rarely change after initial setup. The bridging to the jails gets "confused" when you change things there. So just reboot ...

One could consider it a bug, but I am not quite sure. I don't know what the middleware does to the interfaces in the background - especially with the two step "Test --> Save" function now present.

I decided I'd wait for the next major release which will be based on FreeBSD 13. The bridging and the epair (jail virtual interfaces) code has been completely reworked in FreeBSD 13.

But of course feel free to file a bug report yourself.

I don't know what kind of diagnostics to include into the bug report I don't see any error in the log file

How to reproduce:
  • create a couple of VNET jails
  • make sure they have connectivity to the local LAN
  • change any network setting for the TrueNAS host
  • test and save in the UI
What happens:
  • all jails lose connectivity

Should be enough ...
