I have done a motherboard replacement upgrade to my FreeNAS. everything appears to be running except I can't get iSCSI service to start. The motherboard replacement changed the NIC from em0 to ipg0 so there might be some kind of configuration issue with the old nic somehow being referenced.

Any suggestions on how to debug this? I guess worst case is to export the volumes and import them into a fresh configuration?

NIC name is only used in network settings. Service settings, including iSCSI, typically specify IP addresses. If during the NIC change you got also new IP, and you have previous IP specified in iSCSI portal settings, that can be a reason for iSCSI service to not start. It any case the reason should be available in logs.

Somehow I lost my required "Authorized Access" secret, without it the chap won't work and apparently the service won't start. Once I entered that it started up just fine.
