I have an SSD disk in my NAS system. I used to appoint it as a log disk in the pool, but someone told me that if I save the iocage in the main pool, that will disable the disk sleeping and power management.
should it be true?

if you want you disks to go to sleep and you want to have plugins running then yes you need to have that on a secondary pool.

it depends on the usecase but yes i would run jails on an ssd if possible. its more useful than a slog or zil unless you are already using a super powerful system with lots of ram, high bandwidht nic and lots of cores.
