Is FreeNAS a play on Arabic?

Now that she's become aware of the new box in my office, my wife asks me if FreeNas is an allusion to 'Free People', since Nas is Arabic for 'people'? I'd guess not, but I've been wrong before on this sort of question. Google comes up empty.

I'm going to venture a guess that it's just one of those weird coincidences that happen in life.

This is a joke, right? :) If not, I strongly encourage you to look up the meaning of the acronym NAS. Any meaning in any other language is purely coincidental.

Mostly a joke...but I did miss the Ubuntu context/allusion for quite some time and my wife finds actual Arabic roots where I don't see them and some people who write code do at times grow up knowing Arabic. But mostly it's an amusing double meaning. At least it's not 'free shit' or something like that....
