I have typed up the MAC of the NIC that Scale uses and made a static DHCP entry in my Router for that MAC to use a specific IP.
Despite Scale being set as DHCP, it does not seem to understand my commandeering of it's IP.

(I have a dozen other devices, mixed systems, that accept this)

Do I have to specify the assigned IP in the setup, despite it being DHCP?

No, but it is strongly recommended to set server IPs statically rather than with DHCP.

Do you have a bridge involved in your setup?

No there is no bridge.
I am trying to set it to a static IP, in the router.

As far as I know it is better to handle static addresses in ONE place, ergo the Router in my case, than setting it in the linked equipment, thus I try to follow that general recommendation. Router is also Firewall so all my networking conf goes there, including static addressing.

Never mind, turns out that specific IP was busy on a DHCP lease and I forgot to check.
