Internal SSL doesn't include chain

I have a valid ADCS installation with an enterprise PKI online/offline setup, and I issued a subordinate CA cert for TrueNAS that I imported to it to make it a Certificate Authority. After that, I issued a new certificate within TrueNAS (for running SSL on UI), but when I look at the cert, it doesn't have a chain attached to it. Generally, after I issue a CSR, I just take the CER/CRT and append it with the intermediate CA and root CA. I guess I was assuming that TrueNAS would do that automatically when I issue a new certificate through the new subordinate authority... The thing is, the new subordinate authority isn't even in the chain.

Any ideas?
