No Nameserver defined (Network Settings -> Global Configuration -> Nameserver 1)
When a network interface is created (Static or DHCP), one can browse to freenas.local; however, the ability to send e-mail ($ ping google.com) fails.
When no network interface is present, one must use the IP address to use the GUI; however, the ability to send e-mail functions.
The GUI error for the test e-mail is "Your test e-mail could not be sent [Errno8] hostname nor servname provided, or not known"
FYI: I don't have a GUI login password set, so every time FreeNAS is rebooted, the Critical Alert: "You have to change the password for the admin user (currently no password is required to login)" email is sent.
With Nameserver defined, The GUI error for the test e-mail is "Your test e-mail could not be sent:b [Errno 51] network is unreachable".
thoughts? concerns? help?
Thank you
