Yet another new alternative for a SLOG drive:

Only PCIe3 x2, but supports 640MB/s sequential write speeds, 140k IOPS and 18µs latency, which should make a good cheap (at only $129)
Endurance of 365TB
In theory, this should be faster than any SATA drive, so should definately be considered instead of a SATA SSD.
Much cheaper than a P4800x ;)
Of course, if you want to break 1GB/s (for 10gbe purposes), you still need to step up to the 900p
