Installing Samba server in a jail

Is it possible to install a Samba server to export CIFS shares in a jail, or am I better off doing a Linux/Windows VM in a jail?

I would suspect this to be possible, but why? That's what FreeNAS is designed to do.

Was considering keeping it completely separate from the main box, though I've figured I can achieve it with firewall and VPN from a jail to allow access through on CIFS ports on the main box.

Isn't that what permissions are for?

Yeah, I've since decided VPN+Firewall is the way to go.

Yeah, I was just going over the top super paranoid :p
