Can FreeNAS be installed on my iomega NAS? i find the built in software to be really shitty and am hoping to replace it. if so please help

No. Sorry. It's an embedded ARM processor if I recall correctly. If you want a replacement, look for an HP Microserver (N54L's been on sale for as cheap as $220 recently due to the Gen8 coming out) and stuff 16GB of RAM and your disks in it and you are likely to enjoy FreeNAS.
