Is it a requierment to do the installation of TrueNAS on the USB Key on the server ?
or can we run the install script on a laptop, then move the usb key to boot the server?

It's the same process as TrueNAS CORE.
1. Write the "TrueNAS installer" to the USB stick, then
2. insert USB stick in the NAS Machine,
3. install TrueNAS onto the boot drive(s).

You can create the boot drive on a physically separate system to the final intended system and then move it into place.

You should note that USB boot devices are no longer recommended (although they work... albeit less reliably than ssd).
