Install Plex Requests on FreeNAS?

Hi all,

I came across a Meteor app called Plex Requests, which allows users to request TV and Movies and have them be automatically downloaded from CouchPotato and Sonarr/Sickrage. Is it possible to install a Meteor app in Freenas? And if so are there any guides on how to do so?

That is a cool app, I will check it out when I have time. As for running meteor in FreeNAS (actually, FreeBSD, since you don't run anything on FreeNAS itself), I have not had time to mess with this, but I will make an attempt at some point. If you want to try, fire up a new jail and start hacking.

Hey thanks for the guide. Yeah I had it installed on my Mac when I was running my plex server on it and it was a godsend. No more annoying emails or texts from friends and family. I even prefer to use it instead of going to Sonarr/Couchpotato when I want to download something for myself.

I know this is a little old, but I found it while researching PlexRequest. I use the HTPC Manager PBI, and created logon info for my friends/family. Has anyone used both and can offer any comparison?

I also am trying to get this running in a jail. I found the guide that @pirateghost posted, and am using the 'Answer' that fizk posted there. I'm about 98% done, but am having an issue with node and npm. He says to install them using pkg install node npm, but am getting an error for them both

pkg: No packages available to install matching 'node' have been found in the repositories
pkg: No packages available to install matching 'npm' have been found in the repositories

So, I tried to do it the portsnap way. Building node fails every time. This is what I get: http://hastebin.com/ihateciguf.vbs

Any ideas on what to try? I just need node and npm to install. =[

That's because there's a bunch of packages that have "node" in the name. Just do "pkg search node" and enjoy the list. I'm betting you want to install node010-0.10.40, node012-0.12.9, or node4-4.2.3 but I have no clue which one you need. pkg-ng can't tell either because you only said 'node' so it's telling you it has no clue with the messages you got. ;)

Similar situation for npm. There's potentially 3 packages you may want and 'npm' isn't specific enough.
