impact of autoshutdown server on mounted iscsi drives

I have a question that some of you might have experience with

- I use a 1TB iscsi drive to host Lightroom catalogs that i acces from my windows workstation
- my workstation goes into hibernate when it's not used for x hours
- my nas shutsdown when it doesn't detect the workstation being on for x minutes
- When i wake up my workstation the nas isn't automatically started

is this a situation where dataloss can occur?
are there other things i should be aware of?
any tips & tricks
