SOLVED I need to set my FreeNAS server to contact me about Errors

So I am completely new to FreeNAS. I searched but it is possible I couldn't find it because I didn't know the name of the feature I need to enable.

The previous co-worker that set up our server indicated that the server can be configured to email you in the event of an issue that needs to be addressed. Unfortunately he was unable to transfer this knowledge before moving on to greener pastures.

Is this possible?

Also a tutorial for absolute noobs on how to make sure I don't drive this thing right into the ground would be awesome. Even this Noob forum seems to be a bit over my FreeNAS head.

Thanks for any help that anyone can provide!

Yes, it's totally possible. See the "Email" section of the WebGUI for all the settings. Also see our documentation at doc.freenas.org for how to set it all up.

Yeah, you won't get noob guides for most things. And to be honest, FreeNAS is more about knowing how the technology works and how to apply it for your situation, not for cookbooking it via a guide for a given outcome.

Great thanks! I found these sections and they seem to be exactly what I need:
3.1.2 Set the Administrative Email Address
4.6.3 Email Tab

I'll follow that and go from there. If that will miss anything please give me the heads up. Otherwise thanks a bunch you have been super helpful!
