A layman would think that Integrating with Active Directory could be done without the pain of a root canal. The layman would be wrong. Every article and user guide is written in Network Admin and not English. I just want to integrate FreeNAS with an Administrator User on a domain. Why does it have to be so hard?

If you have a domain, then have your domain admin do it. If you don't have a domain admin then you shouldn't be running AD. The AD integration really is quite simple and it's even easier in 9.3.

By the way, this isn't "NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR" language. It is general System Admin language. If you don't understand it, I would hate to be in your shoes when your AD environment goes tits up.

It's time to abandon FreeNAS for a more user friendly Network Share.
FreeNAS is very friendly. It's just picky about who it considers "friends".

@rgiles18 please tell your doctor, that your heart surgery should be done by a plumber. because you surely think it is that easy and non problematic

if you do not understand the manual and concept behind servers you are a fool if you complain because of your lack of IT knowledge.
