I setup FreeNAS. I was worried about my 4 gigs of ram, so I used UFS. I put my 4 x 2Tb drives into a mirror :(. Anyway, after reading that ZFS should work fine in a home network I decided to put the four drives into a RaidZ2. Somehow I clicked on the wrong button. The four 2Tb drives are listed but I cannot create a volume. The web access just recycles but nothing is done. No error messages.

I reinstalled but I noticed during post that I see four:
GEOM_MIRROR cancelling unmapping because of ada0
GEOM_MIRROR cancelling unmapping because of ada1
GEOM_MIRROR cancelling unmapping because of ada2
GEOM_MIRROR cancelling unmapping because of ada3

I believe you are going to have to use UFS volume manager and destroy that volume first,
and then you can make a ZFS volume from those disks.

The volume is not listed.
I tried [$ gmirror clear /dev/ad0]
[$ gmirror clear /dev/ad1]
[$ gmirror clear /dev/ad2]
[$ gmirror clear /dev/ad3]
That did not work.

In addition, I have attempted to Import the Volume but get an error message. The volume does not support importation...

After re-reading this thread I noticed your attempt to "clear" each disk,
You stated the post reading ada0 for each drive.
You might try your Gmirror clear command again using ada0 instead of ad0
Just grasping at straws cause no one else seems to be responding.

I was able to remove 3 disk from mirror.
[root@freenas ~]# gmirror remove Vol2TBx4 ada0
[root@freenas ~]# gmirror remove Vol2TBx4 ada1
[root@freenas ~]# gmirror remove Vol2TBx4 ada2
[root@freenas ~]# gmirror remove Vol2TBx4 ada3
gmirror: Vol2TBx4: Can't remove the last ACTIVE component ada3.
[root@freenas ~]# gmirror clear ada3
Can't clear metadata on ada3: Operation not permitted.
gmirror: Not fully done.

Problem solved. I have a nice health baby RaidZ2 :)
[gmirror remove ...] disk from volumes then I [gmirror deactivate ...]. Probably could have deactivated the mirror from the start but I just found out about the commands. :/

You didn't get any input from forum regulars because: 1) you didn't follow forum rules by posting your configuration, and 2) because your hardware does not meet the minimum requirement for safely running ZFS.

You will have a nice healthy RaidZ2 - until it craters. The forum stickies about hardware recommendations and installation are well worth the read. I hope you don't experience a problem, but you are definitely at risk. Be sure you have a good backup strategy.

Good luck.
