I can´t see the disks

Hi folks,

I just installed my freenas server, but not the disks I appear. Storage> Volumes> View disks. ,

My server has 8 GB of ram, has created Raid 6.

I attached image.

Go and pick up or find 2 name brand flash drives 8 or 16GB in size, install FreeNAS to those, then move on with creating your disks. Also, you said you created a raid6...how did you do that? Please post the actual specs not just the chassis as many chassis can come with a variety of different internals

No, looks like he bought this pre-made server, configured a RAID6 array using its hardware RAID controller (which, of course, you should never do with FreeNAS), and installed FreeNAS to the disk array (which, of course, you should never do with FreeNAS). The latter is the reason he can't see his disks; he's already used them. If he'd read the install screens (forget about the manual, just the installer screens would have sufficed), he would have known better.

@cquintana, you really need to read the manual and some of the sticky threads around here. In addition to the problems I've already mentioned, if you intend to use anywhere near the capacity of that server, you're going to need lots more RAM.

Fortunately, there's plenty of room for it--the spec page says it supports up to 1.5 TB of RAM.

slummin' it eh? ;)
