That's good. Put FreeNAS on a usb stick, boot it up and see if it will recognize it. It will, most probably as em(x) where x will be a number starting with 0.
Let us know how that went.

isp 0 : mailbox cmd (0x400) with no waiters
isp 1 : mailbox cmd (0x400) with no waiters

That's a dual port fiber channel, dual port ethernet, I think. Go into the card's firmware configuration and make sure that every last bit of fiber channel configuration is bludgeoned out, bludgeoned off, and/or disabled so that it isn't trying to attach to something.

Well, it seems likely that it is unhappy that there's no array or SAN attached.

Noticed today during booting my system i get the message "PCI CONFIGURATION ERROR"

i can't enter the BIOS of the card either. When i press Ctrl-Q nothing happens. A bit of googling i found out that the nvram could be corupted and needs to reset. QLOGIC won't give the needed information (and files), because the card is an OEM-Card for HP

The BIOS lists the card as a QLOGIC QLA2462

So i want to ask if there is anybody on here who can tell me how to reset the nvram ? and maybe a BIOS that is not OEM

Steve :(

Not to burst your bubble, but your question is beyond the scope of this forum. I wouldn't expect a response. You should probably Google around and see if you can find it posted elsewhere.
