Forgive me if I'm asking a stupid question, but I've searched the forums without an answer. I believe I've created my volumes without encryption but in the log files I see the following:

Aug 21 21:33:00 ned kernel: GEOM_ELI: Device da4p1.eli created.
Aug 21 21:33:00 ned kernel: GEOM_ELI: Encryption: AES-XTS 256
Aug 21 21:33:00 ned kernel: GEOM_ELI: Crypto: hardware
Aug 21 21:33:00 ned kernel: GEOM_ELI: Device da3p1.eli created.
Aug 21 21:33:00 ned kernel: GEOM_ELI: Encryption: AES-XTS 256
Aug 21 21:33:00 ned kernel: GEOM_ELI: Crypto: hardware
Aug 21 21:33:00 ned kernel: GEOM_ELI: Device da2p1.eli created.
Aug 21 21:33:00 ned kernel: GEOM_ELI: Encryption: AES-XTS 256
Aug 21 21:33:00 ned kernel: GEOM_ELI: Crypto: hardware

etc etc, So is that saying that I am using encrypted volumes or not?

Swap is always encrypted, even if you didn't choose encryption for the pool. Read the manual, it's all explained there!
