How to manage an existing system

I've recently taken over management of an existing TrueNAS system that has been online for quite some time. the TrueNAS machine is supposed to be connected to another server via ISCSI but the ISCSI connection is not up. Additionally, I'm unable to reach the GUI of the TrueNAS. I have a monitor plugged into the device but have no idea how to find the IP address for the GUI from the data provided on the screen. Any attempt I make to enter commands via the CLI console are ignored. I'm stuck and don't know where to turn. Can anyone point me to a good starting place.

The UI URL should display on the console as soon as you hit <ENTER> once. Could you show a picture of the console display?

Hitting Enter doesn't do anything. Here's a pic of the console.

That looks like a system that's in the middle of booting. Once it finishes, you should see something like this:

This is for TrueNAS SCALE, not CORE, but the latter would be similar. If you never see something like that, you may have suffered a failure of the boot device. The best bet in that case would be to reinstall to a new one, and hopefully you have a saved copy of the configuration database to upload.

I rebooted the unit and enabled the verbose boot option. The console looks like this and has been sitting here for over an hour. Is it dead and should i give up hope?

I agree with @danb35 - looks like you may have a failed boot device.

I would download latest version of Core, create a new boot device, install it and boot from it - then look for a saved config file, most likely found on the client system used for administration of the server - a file that would have a default name of the form "NAS4-TrueNAS-13.0-U6.1-20240126142800.tar" (NAS name, OS name & Version. Date,Time.tar". Import such a config file at System>General> UPLOAD CONFIG.

Looks like somebody dropped you in it... that server may be bad if it won't even boot a fresh install.

You should probably try new boot media if not already the case and don't import that Z2-pool yet.

Also... whoever set that up is not a clever person as iSCSI and RAIDZ2 aren't good friends.
