I had a raidz1-0 ZFS pool with 4 disks. One of the disks broke down, resulting in a degraded pool. After replacing the physical disk with a new one, I tried re-adding the disk to the pool. For this, I used the Volume Manager from the FreeNAS GUI. However, this resulted in the disk being added as a mirror instead of replacing the failed disk in the existing raidz1-0 configuration (yes I know, not the right way, later I found out how to properly do it).
Then I made a couple of stupid mistakes. Thinking since the new disk is mirrored, I could easily take it out of the pool by just wiping it. This wasn't possible because the volume was in use. So I did a zfs export of the pool and wiped the new (mirrored) disk. Afterwards, I tried importing the pool by doing: zfs import -a. But now I get:
cannot import 'Bulldog': one or more devices is currently unavailable
The output of zfs import is:
There are still 3 disks out of the original 4 left, so I really hope my data is safe.
However, how do I get the pool online again?
