How should i transfer freenas from usb to ssd ?

all it does is change attach to detach. I can think of no reason they couldn't just have detach AND attach and not have a hard limit, other than the thinking that dumbing things down is a good idea ( like the change to the plugin UI, which is, frankly, ridiculous, there appears to be no reason for it).

from what I can tell, the only reason the previous version gave an error was because they DESIGNED it to give an error, if they hadn't decided to stop you making 3x way mirror then it should have worked fine like it did in even more previous versions - the error is "[EFAULT] 3-way mirror not supported yet", which implies they chose not to implement it, not that it couldnt be done.

you can still attach and detach from the commandline, and the GUI will display it and let you replace them and detach them, you just cant attach them.

Exactly. It's no longer a supported option (for whatever reason) even though technically it should work just fine.

if you add a 3rd disk at the command line it even tells you how to update the boot code, meaning they are removing it only from the GUI.

:shrug: Raise a ticket about it, or follow the existing ones already made and make your voice heard. The devs don't always patrol the forum so if it's that important, the JIRA is your best bet.
