What do you mean by "rebuild the tunables"? Normally you should not set any unless you know precisely what a particular one does and why you need/want it.

I removed all the tunable options and updated and it generated new ones.

TrueNAS does not generate tunables on it's own. Did you use the "autotune" feature? Don't. It's deprecated and discouraged. You should not use it. Remove all tuneables and just let the system run.

yeah, it must be autotune. That sounds like a better plan! Would you mind telling me how to disable the autotune?

You need to explicitly click on it to activate it. It's off by default.

Hmm, that's strange because I deleted everything and when I upgraded, some were added that were noted "generated by autotune" and it was enabled.

I can remove it manually; I'll likely do that. Thanks for the advice!

So you enabled autotune. It's in System > Advanced in the UI. And generally a bad idea. The help text hints at that somewhat but not very explicitly.

ahh, I see it now. I disabled it and removed all the autotune entries.

Thank you so much!

One reboot is necessary after that.
