Hi,
I'm building a home server/NAS at the moment and trying to decide how to arrange the vdevs. I'm using a 20 hotswap bay case.

I was thinking 4 x 5 drive RAIDz vdevs would be a good choice. Allowing me to fill all the hotswap bays and sticking with the preferred power of 2 + parity number of disks. I'm a little unsure now though and wondering if I should move to 6 drive RAIDz2 vdevs in case a drive dies in resilvering or something. I will keep offsite backups too but I'd rather not have to restore from them due to the time and hassle involved - they're really intended as my last resort.

Thanks for any advice
