Has anyone tried to instal PiAlert (dev) and survived to tell if it works?

I have never installed a "dev" app. Is it really true that they do not work?

I really want to try Pi-Alert for network monitoring and alerts and not sure if it works, so I was wondering if anyone had already done that and know how to tackle the issues.

Other friendly free home network monitoring tool recommendations are welcome btw (using truenas SCALE)

It isn't categorically true that they "do not" work, but it's certainly true that they "may not" work. PiAlert doesn't install for me, FWIW.

You'd be much better off asking on the TrueCharts support channels (mainly their Discord) rather than here; they don't visit here very often. And maybe even try it yourself and see how you get on.

If you mean the dev train from truecharts, yes they are work in progress apps and are not ready to be installed. the dev train is essentially the personal dev train from the truecharts lead dev
