MatthewSteinhoff :
Damn, I continue to see case it is interesting.
But 500w, it is enough?

CITATION :
ZILs and l2ARC have very specific use. Money spent on SSD for ZILs or L2ARCs are almost always better spent on RAM (FreeNAS guide 9.10).

I trust Supermicro but wondered the same thing. Of note, there are two 500-watt power supplies. Up and running, I'd say they were redundant. To spin up that many drives, I suspect both would be required.

There are several other servers in the 826 line that are 12-bay and have higher-wattage power supplies. The CSE-826BE16-R920LPB has dual 920-watt platinum efficiency power supplies and would be my first choice (because it has two 2.5-inch slots just for SSDs in the back) but it doesn't specifically list the X10SRL-F as a supported motherboard. I suspect it will work and the chassis predates the motherboard but can't say that for sure.

Absolutely true. At 128G RAM though, you're in the ballpark of people who may benefit from SSD storage depending on your data and usage. You haven't told us anything about your planned usage.

Cheers,
Matt
