Joining up to get some information on rebuilding the NAS a friend put together for me.
Of the 5 2Tb drives, two failed over the Easter break.
Now to work out how to rebuild this as best as possible.

Hi Lindsey, greeting from (Port) Melbourne.

Any progress on this? If you had 5 drives configured as RaidZ, you will be in trouble, because there is only one disk redundancy..RAIDZ2 would be good enough to get it going again, because it gives you 2 disk redundancy. RIADZ3 allows 3 disks to fail.

Cheers
Peter

Since you have lost your pool, the only option is to rebuild a new pool and restore the data to it (assuming you have a backup of what's important).

As already mentioned, you have lost 2 disks with only 1 disk worth of fault tolerance, so it's over, I'm afraid, no chance of some miracle to recover the data without at least 4 of 5 disks operating.

If you wanted to share with us more details of what you have (maybe it was RAIDZ2 and you're still alive, but no longer with any fault tolerance...) I'm sure the group will get back to you with pointers to the resources regarding replacing failed disks.
