I've got an old NTFS drive which I think has some errors and would benefit from a fsck before I move all the files off it and onto the freenas datasets.

fsck /dev/ada1s1 is reporting "fsck: Could not determine filesystem type"
and
fsck -t ntfs /dev/ada1s1 is giving "fsck: exec fsck_ntfs for /dev/ada1s1 in /sbin:/usr/sbin: No such file or directory"

I'd highly recommend using Windows' chkdsk to fix NTFS volumes.

NTFS has been read-only for a while now because it had a tendency to corrupt NTFS volumes. Yeah, reverse-engineering isn't pretty.

I don't have any other towers, I've got an iMac, MacBookPro and a Windows laptop, not sure how I'm going to connect the sata drive to any of them?
